Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe

A healthy, refreshing & health-enhancing vegan smoothie that will help you glow from the inside out. Drinking this green smoothie is sure to set your day off to a good start while taking a taste of the tropics with you in to the winter months! 

Ingredients:

2 cups packed baby spinach leaves

1.5 cup frozen mango and/or pineapple cubes (organic, when possible)

1 frozen banana

1 1/2 – 2 limes, juiced (approx. 60mls)

1 1/2 – 2 cups of coconut water or coconut milk

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

2 Medjool dates

A small handful of fresh mint

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Serve cold. Enjoy!

Nutrition Bite:Spinach – Popeye was definitely onto something with his love affair with spinach for good health and vitality! Spinach is high in carotenoids  (which your body can turn into Vitamin A), Vitamin C & Folic acid. It is also a great plant-based source of both iron and calcium. “I’m strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach, I’m Popeye the Sailor Man!” In this case, you’ll be drinking your spinach for good health…but cheers to that!
