Treatment for Chronic Rhinitis

ClariFix

Tired of a constant runny nose, nasal congestion or mucus in the back of your throat? Chronic rhinitis could be to blame.

Chronic rhinitis – what is it?
Rhinitis is the medical term for inflammation of the inner lining of the nose. There are two types of rhinitis; allergic which is more commonly known as hayfever and is caused by pollen, dust mites, mould or pet dander and can be seasonal. And non-allergic rhinitis which symptoms are not caused by an allergy and often come and go year-round.

Chronic rhinitis is when symptoms last typically longer than 12 weeks, different from acute rhinitis, which lasts a few days or up to 4 weeks before going away. Symptoms of chronic rhinitis can include:

  • Watery runny nose
  • Nasal congestion
  • Congestion in the morning
  • Post-nasal drip (mucus in the throat)
  • Clearing of the throat

What causes it?
The exact causes are unknown, but out-of-balance nasal nerves play a contributing factor. The nerves in your nose transmit signals to your brain regulating all sorts of functions. When these nerves become hyperactive or out of balance, they send more signals than are necessary for the nose to perform its normal jobs, such as protecting the body from infectious agents. This can cause your nose to respond like it’s fighting an illness. The nasal linings will become inflamed (congestion) and mucus production will increase (runny nose), causing these annoying symptoms – even when you aren’t sick.

Treatment
Medical treatments for chronic rhinitis, like nasal sprays, drops, pills and allergy shots, help manage frequent runny nose, congestion and post-nasal-drip symptoms; however:

  • They may require daily use
  • Symptoms can persist despite these treatments

If treatments such as nasal sprays, drops and pills are not working for you, or you are looking for a solution that lasts longer, try ClariFix®.1

What is ClariFix
ClariFix Cryotherapy is a treatment that is clinically proven to significantly improve the symptoms of chronic rhinitis for long-lasting relief.1

How does it work?
Cryotherapy is used to freeze the nerve – interrupting the signals to reduce runny, stuffy nose symptoms. Resulting with the nerves no longer telling the nose to drip, run and swell.

This is a surgical procedure performed by an ENT (Ear, Throat & Nose) Specialist. Most patients find there is minimal downtime and begin to see improvement between 2 and 6 weeks post-treatment.1,2

Results
ClariFix has been clinically proven to improve symptoms for chronic rhinitis, with 80% of patients seeing a significant decrease in runny nose and nasal congestion that is long-lasting.

In a clinical study, patients reported a significant decrease in runny nose and nasal congestion with 4 out of 5 reporting long-lasting symptom relief.2,3

If you have chronic rhinitis and have tried other options to relieve symptoms, it could be time to talk to your doctor or a specialist about ClariFix Cryotherapy.
