A simple call for help can provide huge relief for those who can’t call for themselves.

Medical alarms are ideal for people who live alone, are elderly or disabled or have a medical condition that could require urgent assistance at any time. St John Lifelink™ alarms are directly connected to the St John Communications Centres, meaning help is only the touch of a button away.

ST JOHN LIFELINKTM BRINGS PEACE OF MIND FOR MAUREEN
Hamilton resident Maureen Poi wouldn’t be without her St John Lifelink™ medical alarm.

Her family recommended Maureen have the alarm installed by St John a few years ago after several trips to the hospital. Maureen says, “I would highly recommend the St John Lifelink™ alarm to anyone with a medical condition.”

Maureen has the alarm because she lives alone with a serious medical condition called Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), which means she is prone to getting chest infections and there are times she becomes chronically short of breath. She is now on oxygen due to her medical condition.

Maureen’s shortness of breath means she often can’t move and she doesn’t have enough breath to even talk on the phone, making it almost impossible for her to dial 111 and speak to the call taker.

Because of COPD Maureen has needed to use her St John Lifelink™ medical alarm several times. This is where the alarm becomes Maureen’s lifesaver. When Maureen finds herself short of breath, she can press the button on her pendant.
Even if she is unable to speak to the St John call taker through the loudspeaker in the alarm base unit, she knows St John will still be on their way to her home. That’s a relief for her and her family.

CALLING 111
St John attends over 270,000 emergency incidents each year.1  During any emergency 111 call to St John, stay on the line and answer all questions. The call taker will offer assistance and first aid advice as well as help in preparing for the ambulance’s arrival if one is needed.

ST JOHN LIFELINKTM MEDICAL ALARM
