THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE USING MAXALT (rizatriptan benzoate) 10 mg wafer: MAXALT is used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura. MAXALT should not be taken by people who have a hypersensitivity reaction, uncontrolled hypertension or coronary artery disease, or who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) or propranolol.
